Herefordshire Village Art Markers - Dorstone
8 villages in the rural county of Herefordshire were able to select an artist to work with them on a Village Art Markers project, which would produce a high quality, long lasting piece of craftwork for the village. Jaqueline was selected as the artist who worked with the village of Dorstone.

Jaqueline worked alongside Heritage Officers and community members, who were encouraged to explore their local heritage through heritage and art workshops. During this creative process, Jaqueline developed ideas for one of three possible projects and the local community were able to vote for their favourite piece. The resulting work is a tactile, glass map of the village, surrounded by scenes of local and historical life, such as stooks of corn, wild daffodils, the Motte and Bailey and historical buildings in the village. On a beautiful sunny day, the panel was unveiled to a large and curious audience (the glass panels were kept under wraps during installation). Villagers were also given the opportunity to visit Jaqueline's studio to see the processes involved during the making of the panels.

Unfortunately, we are still awaiting images of the completed piece, and the below is a small selection taken during installation.
